Ravenstar B&B in the village of Vatisker is just 7 miles north of Stornoway on the East coast of the Isle of Lewis.

Finding Us

These are are directions to find us if coming from the main town of Stornoway:

Leaving Stornoway, take the A857 towards Ness (Nis). Soon after crossing a narrow bridge take the second right turn on to the B895 signposted to Tolsta (Tolastadh). Follow this road for about 5 miles until you reach Back (Bac). You will pass a Renault garage on your right, Back sports and football club on your left and will then soon come to Back Post Office and filling/gas station on your left. Take the first road on your right, about a 1/4 mile past the Post Office. This is signposted to Vatisker (Bhatasgeir) and Brevig (Breibhig). Follow this road into a dip and rising out again, as the road levels off you will see our Ravenstar sign on your left hand side. Please park at the front of the house.

Place names in brackets are in Gaelic as are many of the road signs!

The most popular way to get to the Isle of Lewis is via the ferry from Ullapool to Stornoway.

For current ferry timetable and fare information, and for bookings, visit the Caledonian MacBrayne website.

Guests are reminded that in summer the ferries to and from Lewis and Harris can be very busy. We would strongly advise you to pre-book your ferry places during June, July and August as there is sometimes a wait of 2 or 3 days for a crossing if booked last minute.

The nearest airport is Stornoway Airport, which has flights on weekdays to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Benbecula, Inverness and Barra.
